Abstract
The article considers the situation caused by the further development of information and communication technologies, which actualized the need to conceptualize literacy and substantiate the requirements for it from the scientific and industrial communities of different countries. An attempt has been made to identify literacy requirements in the context of modern models of industry, education, and society development, presented in the concepts of Industry 4.0, Industry 5.0, and Society 5.0. The combination of analytical and comparative methods made it possible to identify the peculiarities of the interpretation of literacy in the theories under consideration, as well as to obtain results that can have practical significance related to finding invariant literacy requirements that can be taken into account when shaping educational policy and the structure of the modern education system as in Russia. It was found that at the moment there is no unity among researchers in the conceptual justification of the new literacy requirements that arise in the context of the further development of ICT. The multitude of available options for conceptualizing literacy makes it possible to take into account the various nuances of the requirements of local communities, but at the same time creates additional difficulties, because their needs are a complex conglomerate of various elements that do not always correspond to the parameters of a particular theoretical model.
