Abstract

This article analyzes the experience of holding the International Network Scientific and Practical Conference “Synergy” (2016-2022) as an innovative tool for advanced training for faculty at Russian engineering universities. Initiated by the Association for Engineering Education of Russia and KNITU, with the support of PJSC Gazprom and the International Society for Engineering Education (IGIP), the conference brought together the academic community, industrial partners, and international experts in a networking format with sessions in various cities across Russia and abroad. An overview of the evolving topics (interdisciplinarity, Industry 4.0, green economy) demonstrates adaptation to the challenges of digitalization and sustainable development. Participation in Synergy ensures academic mobility, international certification, publication activity, and the development of digital competencies for university faculty, as well as their direct dialogue with employers. This model is recommended for replication to modernize engineering education.
